Launch of Africa-India-USA SMES B2B collaboration hosted by Africa India Economic Foundation (AIEF) and U.S. India SME Council on 23 September 2021 in New York , in the presence of the Chief Guest H.E Mr. Abdulla Shahid, President of United Nations General Assembly.
The event witnessed the signing of an MOU between the Africa India Economic Foundation and the US India SME Council Inc., which has the objective of cooperation towards setting up of the Africa India Business Centre’s complex in Mumbai as well as of bringing Africa, India and US business communities, especially SMEs, together under a triangular partnership. Such a triangular partnership is truly BAPA + 40 and triangular partnership in action.
Amb. Michael Xavier Biange, Chair of the African Group, Amb. Fatima Kyari Mohammed, Africa Union Representative, Senator Kevin Thomas, New York State Senator, Amb. T. S. Tirumurti,UN PR of India Dr. Rajan Natarajan, Former Deputy Secretary of State of Maryland and about 35 Africa Countries representatives; furthermore, 35 Business Entrepreneurs attended this historical event.
The event held in New York is truly a symbol of the close India-Africa economic and business partnership to tap the full potential of the trade and business links between India and African countries, since small and medium enterprises are the bedrock in these countries, providing much needed development, livelihood and employment.
During the launch of partnerships, UN President H.E Mr. Abdulla Shahid highlighted the importance of Micro Small and Medium Business Enterprises. MSMEs are the bedrocks of many economies, contributing to employment, sustainable development, and poverty alleviation.
