Africa India Economic Foundation (AIEF hosted a grand evening of celebrations with The African Union (AU) Pavilion- their Affiliate Partner -at Expo 2020 Dubai as the curtains drew to a close at the global showpiece.
This august occasion – held at Club 2020 on Saturday 26 March 2022, had an eminent guest list that includes Ambassadors, Consulate Generals, Commissioner Generals from the African continent and India along with leaders from the business community in Africa, the United Arab Emirates and India.
Throughout its six month long stay at Expo 2020 Dubai, the African Union pavilion has witnessed a vibrant and dynamic impact that has evoked extensive interest in key sectors of growth across the African continent and also garnered global interest from enterprising new-age entrepreneurs looking to be a part of the transformational African Growth Journey.
AU Expo Commissioner General Dr. Levi Uche Madueke remarked that this was an occasion for the collective to come together and celebrate what has been a rewarding journey for both the public and private sectors.
Inspired by the spirited leadership and contribution, at this gathering, the AIEF will also take the opportunity to recognize and confer the “Gandhi Mandela Leadership award” to Dr. Levi Uche Madueke, AU Commisioner General for Expo 2020 for “Elucidating and Championing the African Narrative to the world”, Mr. Jacques Mukwende, Director of Partnership Management and Resource Mobilisation of the African Union Commission for “Engineering new strategic pathways for AU partnerships”,
Mr.Chiza Charles Newton Chiumya, AU Deputy Commissioner General for Expo 2020 Dubai, for “Dedication & Mastery in promoting Private Sector Engagement” and Ms. Leslie Richer, AU Pavillion Director for Expo 2020 Dubai for “Display of Greater Ingenuity in the creatives and Communication”
The AIEF is an institutional mechanism and multidimensional enabler for the private sector and MSMEs to promote knowledge, technology, industry, trade, commerce and investments between the countries of Africa and India.
Mr. Rathinavelu, Co-founder & Chairman of AIEF commented: “Our main role would be to ensure that the member entrepreneurs of the Foundation entering Africa to collaborate and partner with local Private sector and MSMEs in their respective domains and also would commit to the social welfare and development of the region by empowering the local community through skill development, employment, housing, imparting education and health care.”
